The rules at a glance
Rules in force from Oct 5, 2026 9 registrations this year 1 question open Partner-visible
The rules Keelson applies to every plant project a reseller registers: what can be registered, what a complete registration contains, how long the registered price is protected and what ends protection. Written by Benedict Oyelaran, commercial operations manager at Keelson Precision Manufacturing, for Carmen Delgado and the Ridgeline Industrial Supply sales team. Tobias Wren, Keelson channel manager, owns the program terms; Benedict decides each registration.

What can be registered
A registration protects one defined plant project: a named plant, a named customer contact, a set of pumps and the Keelson parts the project needs. It is how a reseller earns the registered price for work it found and developed.
| Registrable | Not registrable |
|---|---|
| A rebuild, upgrade or outage project at a named plant | Routine replenishment from your stock with no named project |
| New pumps fitted with Keelson replacement parts | Keelson key accounts, which Keelson serves directly |
| A project you found, where you lead the customer conversation | A plant project another reseller holds under an approved registration |
| A project with a decision expected within the protection period | A project Keelson has already quoted to the customer |
Registration is not an order and not a quote. The customer's purchase order still comes to you, and you quote at the registered price only after approval.
What a complete registration contains
Two of Ridgeline's registrations this year named the plant but not the pump models, so Benedict could not check the parts or the price band. Since then a registration needs the pump models and quantities before review starts, and Carmen added both to the counter team's checklist.
Before you submit
- Plant name and site, for example Halbrook Paper Mill, line 3open
- Customer contact with authority over the purchase, and their titleopen
- Pump maker, model and size for every pump in the projectopen
- Quantities and the Keelson parts: impellers, wear ring sets, housings or sleeve kitsopen
- Estimated value at list priceopen
- Expected order date, within the protection periodopen
- A note in the customer's words on why the project existsopen
The last line is optional but speeds review. "Process pumps losing efficiency, wear ring sets for eight pumps" tells Keelson what to check. "Needs parts" does not.
How a registration is decided
A question pauses the clock. The registration waits until you answer, and the one business day restarts from your answer. When a registration is not approved, you see the reason. The reason never names another reseller or its customer.
Ridgeline's registrations this year
Nine projects were registered since February. Read the bars as where each one stands today. The lead Keelson offered on Oct 2 is not counted here until Ridgeline accepts it.
| Project | Parts | Value at list | Submitted | State | Protected until |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Halbrook Paper Mill | Replacement impellers | $64,000 | Sep 15 | Approved | Dec 15 |
| Port Avery Water Authority | Pump housings | $118,000 | Jul 16 | Extension asked | Oct 15 |
| Lindqvist Chemical, Baton Creek plant | Wear ring sets | $41,000 | Oct 2 | Under review | Not yet |
| Crestline Brewing | Shaft sleeve kits | $9,500 | Sep 29 | Question | Not yet |
| Kessler Pulp & Board | Pump housings | $96,000 | Mar 16 | Won | Won Jul 1, after one extension |
| Brannock Foundry | Replacement impellers | $52,000 | Feb 9 | Won | Won Apr 20 |
| Westfield Aggregates | Wear ring sets | $27,000 | May 4 | Won | Won Jul 14 |
| Oakmont Dairy | Shaft sleeve kits | $15,000 | Apr 27 | Protection ended | Ended Jul 28 |
| Tarrow Pump Systems | Replacement impellers | $38,000 | Sep 21 | Not approved | Keelson key account |
Registrations follow the work. September brought three, the month after the plant maintenance lunch-and-learn, which is the pattern a funded activity should produce.
Protection, extension and what ends it
Protection starts the day Keelson approves the registration and lasts 90 days. During that time the registered price holds for that project and no other reseller can register it.
Extension
Ask for one extension of 30 days before the end date, when the customer confirms a new decision date in writing. Attach or quote the confirmation. Kessler Pulp & Board got one in June when the mill moved its outage by four weeks, and the order followed on Jul 1.
Port Avery Water Authority is the open case: the authority moved its board vote to next month and confirmed the new date in writing, and Carmen asked for the extension on Oct 2. Benedict decides it before Oct 15.
What ends protection
- The customer places the order: the project is won at the registered price.
- The end date passes with no order and no extension: the plant is open to register again, by you or another reseller.
- The customer cancels the project, or you report it lost.
- The registration turns out to be inaccurate, for example a different plant or a project Keelson already quoted.
Oakmont Dairy ended on Jul 28 without an order. Nothing is lost by that: if the dairy revives the project, register it again with the new date.
Price
The registered price is 18 percent below list for the parts named in the registration, for the protection period. Orders without an approved registration are priced at 10 percent below list. On the Halbrook Paper Mill project, $64,000 at list, that is the difference between $52,480 and $57,600 for Ridgeline's cost. The figures are a worked example of the two rules.
Register before you quote
"A price given before the registration is decided is a promise we may not be able to keep. Register first, and the customer hears one number."
Tobias Wren, Channel manager, Keelson Precision Manufacturing
Ridgeline gave Tarrow Pump Systems a price on Sep 21, before the registration was decided, and Tarrow is a Keelson key account. The registration was not approved on Sep 22 and the customer already had a number. Tobias decided that resellers register before they give a price, and Carmen made it a rule for the outside sales team.
